A pure wool shawl in off-white, handwoven in Salampur, Swat. Heavier and warmer than our Khadi and Swati Shahtoosh, this is the shawl for the coldest weeks of the year.
Warmth first
Where the Swati Shahtoosh is woven fine to be light, the pure wool shawl is woven for warmth. It is 100% wool with a denser, fuller hand: the piece to wear over a sweater on a January morning in Islamabad or Peshawar, or on a winter drive north. It is also the most forgiving shawl we sell; it takes daily use and repeated washing without complaint.
The colour
Off-white in a heavy wool reads soft and creamy rather than bright. It brightens dark winter clothes and is the colour most often chosen for a first wool shawl.
