Kashmiri pashmina, at the everyday end
This is the entry point to our Kashmiri range: a pashmina shawl from the Kashmir looms that sits below our Kani and ring shawls in fineness and in price. It is softer and lighter than any of our Swati wool weaves, and it is the piece to choose if you want to wear pashmina every day rather than keep it for weddings. This is how we test pashmina, and this is how Swati and Kashmiri shawls differ.
Woven border
The contrast border is woven in on the loom rather than embroidered afterwards: two colours in one cloth, with the plain field left to show the pashmina itself. It is the simplest kind of Kashmiri decoration and the easiest to wear every day.
The colour
Red with a black border is a classic pairing: festive enough for a wedding, grounded enough by the black to wear on an ordinary evening.
